What is the Pre-Shipment Inspection
Commercial pre-shipment inspection for goods is taken by one of trade parties such as (seller, buyer, clients, agency …etc.) to inspect the product before shipping to its destination to fulfil one the following purpose:
- Check product defects.
- Check quality & quantity of goods.
- Check if product meet the safety requirements of importer’s country.
- Issue a certification of shipping.
Pre-shipment inspections were formally implemented in 1994 as part of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), which was later superseded by the World Trade Organization, to raise international trade standards (WTO).

Pre-shipment inspection PSI
Activities which carried out during the inspection such as (performance. functionalities, overall appearance, dimension, and durability) and are routinely checked before shipping.

Following a successful inspection, the agency issues an inspection report document which accompanies the consignment to its destination.
Pre-shipment Inspection PSI or (Final Random Inspection) FRI. This inspection, which is the most significant and well-known services offered in the Inspection activity, strives to ensure that the production is in accordance with your requirements and global standards. When all stages of production are complete and at least 80% of the finished product has been packaged, PSI is carried out. The number, packing, quality, marking, and other significant items desired by the clients as well as international standards are all included in the scope of this inspection. According to ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 AQL, this inspection should be performed generally in the seller’s factory (Default Lever 2.) (See 2 tables below)
